Sanding wood to make a plug for my ears?

I want to take a small piece of wood, sand it down to a round 0g earring and put it in my ear. But, im not sure if regular wood would cause an infection??

Pretty much all wood will cause infection and some introduce toxic substances that can also cause irritation. The harder the wood the better but you should not use wood for this purpose. Ceramics, glass and non toxic metals are good choices.
