Patios and Paving for Garden Design Ideas
When deciding on a patio design you should consider as many materials as possible in your design. No longer are you limited to boring block paving or man made cement slabs. Modern garden designs feature materials such as resin bonded floor tiles which are available in many textures and colours.
Natural materials are now more common place in patio designs then say 15 – 20 years ago. There are now many Internet based stone merchants that will supply you with stone in most colours and tones. A very popular choice at the moment is Indian Limestone, this is available in hues of blues, greys, light pinks, and sand – and even black. This is a smooth surface stone and the ease of use and cost makes it a good choice.
Stone paving kits are availble to make life a little easier, particuarly the stone circle kits available from most DIY stores if you plan to lay the patio yourself.

Finishing touches for a perfect patio design
Many gardens feature patios but to make your garden design stand out you could use a combination of materials. For example railway sleepers make great steps, seating and raised beds. Railway sleepers can be sourced new or used to compliment modern or rustic garden designs.
Edging Stones
Edging stones are a great way of adding an extra dimension and help define ares of a patio or surface. There are many choices to consider, from simple block paving bricks, to granite setts or even small black and white lime stone sets. These often feature in the municipal paving of European countries and is known as fan-tail paving.
