When can i wear hoops and other dangily earrings ?
I had my ears pierced 8 weeks ago and I kept my earrings in for the whole 6 weeks . I cleaned 2-3 times a day so I had no infection . However , on the 7th week i went back to the jewlery store where I had them done and the lady there took them out and put in new hoops . I only had them in for a few hours and they began to hurt my ears so once I got home I took them out and cleaned my old starter earrings and put them in . The hoops were nickel free and made from sterling silver so they were good quality and I wasnt allergic . A few days after my left ear swelled up , I put some sea salt solution and now its fine . I was just wondering would it be okay if i waited a few more weeks then put some in ? Thank youu .
You might still have been allergic to the silver.
Are your starter earings gold?
I have earings in silver, gold, white gold, various nickle free metals and it make no difference, sometimes I have no problems and other times with the SAME earings I have problems.
Trial and error really. Personally… I tolerate the silver ones better than gold ones. I also had to buy entirely plastic disc backings to use with all my earing, as I seem to have more problems with the backings than the posts.
Keep trying different types of metals and see how you get on.
