Star Wars: The Clone Wars is the latest animated series in the Star Wars franchise to hit the small screen. The series takes place between the films, Episode II: Attack of the Clones and before Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme, Yoda, Palpatine, General Grievous are all back in this new series. The introduction to the series is a feature length film released in theaters August 15, 2008 in the US. This will be the first Star Wars film in 3-D animation to be in theaters.

LucasFilm’s released a new clip as shown above from their “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” series. This clip is from “Storm Over Ryloth,” an all-new episode which airs on Friday at 9 p.m. Et/Pt on Cartoon Network. Here, the heroes of the Republic begin their campaign to free the planet Ryloth from the oppressive occupation of enemy forces. In an effort to break through the orbiting Separatist defenses, however, Ahsoka must learn a hard-hitting lesson after she disobeys Anakin’s orders – and loses most of her squadron as a result. The second season premiered with two back-to-back episodes on October 2, 2009 at 8:00pm (ET) on Cartoon Network. This season is also known as “Rise of the Bounty Hunters.” On November 13, 2009 new episodes began premiering at 9:00pm (ET). New episodes continued to premiere Fridays at 9:00pm (ET) until the end of the season.
