If you purchase a diamond ring, do they give you the one on display?

My fiance and I recently purchased an engagement ring at a diamond store. The lady took the ring that I wanted out of display then went to the back to give us a form to fill out for sizing, when to pick it up, and whatnot. Do they give customers the ring that is on display or give them a new one?

depends if they have the stock of it outback or not. usually they give you the one on display if the one outback (stock) is un-reachable or there is none! your could just always ask for the opposite as to what they give you. eg-(umm i would like to have that particular one on display. its not like theyre going to say no! its the money they want, not the ring haha
