Can 18K white Gold be plated with Platinum, not Rhodium??

My engagement ring is 18K white gold, my band that matches was made in platinum. The gold is yellowing and Rhodium doesn’t last. Any suggestions. ???

It can, but rhodium doesn’t lose it’s luster as quickly as platinum. If you have your ring re-plated every year or so, you’ll notice that the platinum one is going to need to be polished a lot more often. Polishing it to keep up with the 18k wg one will eventually wear down the ring a lot.
