How To Buy A Fancy Colored Diamond Ring As Cheaply As Possible Without Getting Scammed?

You’re going to learn seven quick tips that you can use right away to make sure that you get your diamond ring as inexpensively as possible.

Tip number one – avoid the low balling scam. This is where if, for example, you have already a diamond ring and you’d like to sell it to get some money and then to buy a fancy colored diamond ring. So you go to the jeweler and he tells you it’s worthless, and because he’s sooooo generous, he’ll get it off your hands, and it’s worth about $300 and he’ll buy it from you for $400. This might be the low balling scam. Your diamond ring might be worth a lot more money, so make sure that you go to different jewelers and jewelers in different cities.

The other scam, the second tip I want to give you is the following: most of the colored diamonds are basically artificially colored diamonds, and what happens is they will lose their color after a while. So you basically have two choices. You either buy a real colored diamond, what we call naturals, or an artificial. If you’re going to buy an artificially colored diamond, make sure that you don’t pay much because they are basically low quality diamonds they have artificially colored, which brings me to the third point.

Third tip – the naturally colored diamonds, blue, pink, brown, are really, really rare. This is why they are extremely expensive. So, like I said in the other tip, if a jeweler is selling you a colored diamond ring at a bargain, make sure you run away as fast as you can. It means it is an artifically colored diamond that they are trying to sell to you as being a natural.

Fourth tip – how to save money when buying a diamond ring. Like we’ve said, a naturally colored diamond is really expensive, so I want to give you tips to save money. The first one is the carat secret tip. Instead of buying a two carat diamond ring, buy a 1.95 carat diamond ring. It looks the same as a two carat diamond, but you pay a lot less money. Next tip, you can save money by buying a diamond that is less graded on the clarity scale. The clarity criteria is basically related to the imperfections. The less imperfections a diamond has, the more value it has. But, there’s two things you can do here. Buy a diamond with a few imperfections that can only be seen with a microscope. That way, you save money but you don’t really see a difference. Or, buy a diamond that has imperfections, but at the bottom of the diamond. That way, you can squeeze the imperfections between the setting and the diamond.

The next tip is did you know that you can take the ashes of somebody you love who’s dead and turn it into a diamond? You can look online for these services.

The last tip I want to give you is the transparency tip. The transparency is very simple. Don’t buy a diamond that is milky or cloudy, because even though they might be cheaper it will lack brilliance.

And one last tip is know the basics. The basics are the four C’s. The cut, the clarity, the carat, and the color. We’ve talked about a couple of these things, but make sure you learn as much as you can about that so that you can become knowledgeable when buying a fancy colored diamond ring.
