In ancient Egypt, royals and other wealthy people began to wear necklace that are much more complicated in patterns and designs. Three dimensional pendants began to be used in Ancient Greek. Ever since Alexander the Great conquered the world, gold had been the major material used on making necklace for centuries jewelry wearing was strictly limited in Ancient Rome by laws. But in the first century, Roman necklace began to stand out with various kinds of gemstones made in different shapes.
