Required :
Skills : 55 Firemaking, 53 Fletching and 52 Crafting
Starting Point
Use the Fairy Ring Code AKG to get to the Quest Start Quickly.
Starting Off
Speak to the Priest of Guthix. He will tell you that the Phoenix is in need of your help, as it was gravely wounded on the way back to it’s roost to perform a ritual to prolong it’s life for another 5 centuries.
You should agree to help, and then ask the Priest about the Ritual that is required to save the Phoenix, to be handed everything required to complete the quest; Secateurs, a Knife and a Tinderbox.
The Lair
You should then enter the cave. You will appear in a small room, filled with lava and reborn warriors (dont worry, they will not attack you). Head towards the green area on your mini map, and you will find a tree. Harvest the tree by clicking on it to receive some twigs. You should then go to the next room by going through the cave entrance (usually found north to the north of the last entrance, and symbolised by a red line on the cavern wall on the mini map), and harvest the tree found in that room. Repeat this until you have 5 different twigs. (Please note that if you try and leave the room by going back through an entrance that you have already been in, or log out whilst in a room, you will be taken out of the cave completely, and will reappear at the surface. You will then need to start collecting the twigs from the beggining, as they must be ‘fresh’.).
The Phoenix
After you have harvested 5 twigs and been in 5 different rooms, the next entrance that you go through will be a room that contains the gravely wounded Phoenix.
Use your knife on the twigs to turn them into ribbons.
Then use the ribbons on the Pyre (the large stack of logs) and the Phoenix will crawl onto it.
Light the Pyre by using your Tinderbox with it, and the Phoenix will be reborn from the flames.
Talk to the reborn Phoenix; you will receive 5 of it’s Quills.
Finishing the Quest
After talking to the Phoenix, return to the surface by escaping from the exit to the North, and talk to the Priest of Guthix to recieve your reward; Quest complete!
Notes :
There is an Altar in the room that contains the Phoenix, that you can read to gain some basic information about the Phoenix. This is not required to complete the quest, however.
The Phoenix Quills can be sold to other players, or used to make a Phoenix Summoning Familiar with 72 Summoning.
After completing the quest, you may fight the Phoenix once a day to recieve more Quills, and some XP.
Reward: 5 Phoenix quills, 14,400 Firemaking, 12,500 Fletching and 11,556 Crafting exp. Access to the Phoenix Lair once per day. Quest points:1
