I need a really good gingerbread cookie recipie?

This is mine I got from the betty crocker wesite, but it doesn’t contain eggs and a lot of the recipies I find include at least one egg. Anyway, just wondering I need advice if this recipie would work out or other good recipies. Thanks!
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup mild-flavor or full-flavor molasses
1/3 cup cold water
3 1/2 cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

This recipe is considered an heirloom in my friend Julie’s family for generations

Chewy Ginger Cookie Recipe:
3/4 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 cups flour
Cream butter and sugar. Add slightly beaten egg. Add remaining ingredients and beat until smooth (it will be a stiff batter). Bake at 350 F for 8 – 10 minutes.

There’s a bit of a knack knowing when these are done, keep checking on them.

If I had this recipe when I was in the bakery, they would have been a best seller.

For a wheat free option, substitute light spelt flour for the regular flour.
