i am writing a story about a group of people who can see things. There are monsters who can take on human form when they want. These monsters have smooth skin, and no two look alike. one has teal skin and a blond braid with pointy ears and teal marks (female on the good side). another is red, has thick black hair, a gold hoop earring, and horns (male, evil). the last one i mentioned is teal, with swirls of deep blue. his ears are pointy, and he has green hair.
what should i call these monsters? The bad ones are called screamers, but i need a name for the species as a whole. and possibly a name for the people who can see them.
You don’t have to read this part, just extra info: the main girl, Luci, can see the monsters, her parents, who can’t, are killed by one when he was in human form. Luci goes to a special camp with other people who can see with a guy named Dane, and… yeah. i’ll just take it from there.

If nothing else works, you can go on a translating site and describe your monsters, then translate it into another langage and use the words that work.
And if you’re looking for something more normal-sounding, misspell a word used to describe them, or just use a word that describes what they do.
