Cut Cufflinks

Is there a way to wear studs with a shirt not designed for them?
I am wearing a military dress uniform, and the shirt is not designed for the type of studs authorized for wear… short of tearing off the buttons and cutting holes for the studs and cufflinks, is there a way to make it work? My studs don’t have a loop for the button, and my cufflinks are the normal type.
Im afraid you’ll have to make button holes for the cuff links- you can do it discretely on a sewing machine. Or if you don’t have one, make sure you sew a small circle and THEN cut the material out in the middle. If you attempt to cut the material and then sew it up, it’ll be mega difficult.
If the cuff-links are like i think they are with a sort of T shaped stem, then you can get away with only damaging the shirt a tiny bit by cutting into it.
