Mens Wedding Band. Tungsten or gold, diamond band or plain band?

I am shopping for a ring for my soon to be fiance. He is a welder. I do not know if I should buy him a tungsten carbide ring or a white gold ring. I also am not too sure whether or not I should get diamonds in the band or not. I also was told to get him a gold band with diamonds for home and just a tungsten band for work. I am completely clueless as what to get. I am not too sure of his taste when it comes to this. He never wears any type of jewelry and ever makes any type of comments even when I was showing him things online. He seems to be fine with anything.

He can’t wear a ring at work anyhow so forget accommodating his job.

Why isn’t he picking out his own ring? At least get his input.

Titanium, tungsten, palladium and platinum would all be great options. Titanium and tungsten are sturdier, but note they can be difficult or impossible to resize.
